This year we had the opportunity to go to Barcelona, Spain, and serve in a kids camp with Youth for Christ. On this trip we had older high school students, college students and young professionals. We were very blessed with a group of young people with so many different talents that could be used for God’s glory. During camp our team members were camp counselors to around 50 Spanish kids. They took care of them for the entire week working along side Spanish counselors. Each day our team members would take care of their children making sure they were clothed, washed, eating, sleeping and of course having fun. We sang songs with them and had chapel everyday. Although this is a bilingual camp, a lot of campers knew very little English. But God has no boundaries and language cannot stop the power of Christ. Each team member has a different story of how God used them sometimes with just a smile or a hug.
While in Barcelona our team was also able to serve at the International Church of Barcelona. We served during both services by splitting our team up. One group serving during one service and the other serving in the other. Some helped with the youth while others served in the children’s ministry. It was so amazing to be able to worship with so many different cultures from all over the world. In Christ we are one. As we continue to pray for those in Spain we encourage you all to pray for those who do not know Christ around the world.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15)
